When you make the decision to get behind the wheel while intoxicated, you are not only putting your own life at risk but also the lives of others. Sadly, in this case, we saw innocent children injured due to the recklessness of another.
If you’re planning on consuming alcohol, or ever find yourself too impaired to get behind the wheel, we urge you to consider these alternatives before you put yourself and others at risk:
- Designate a sober driver – this could be a friend or family member that will commit to staying sober and will commit to getting you home safely.
- Use a car service app – if you have a smartphone, you can download either the Uber app or Lyft app, if you don’t already have it, and easily and affordably call a car on demand.
- Call a cab – Alternatively, if you do not have a smartphone, call a cab.
- Stay where you are – just stay put, and sober up. Sleep it off where you are, and do not put others’ lives in jeopardy.
